SPLENDID

We had a great time at the Splendour in the Grass festival. It was a particularly treat to follow Robert Forster on stage. We're all long time fans of The Go-Betweens and it was great to have the man side of stage during our set.

We'll be announcing some end of year tour dates in Australia soon as well as dates in Canada, USA AND UK.

Demos

We're taking time out from demoing new songs for our forthcoming album to head to Byron Bay for The Splendour in the Grass Festival. The new songs are coming together really well and we'll start considering where and when to record soon. Myles has completed production of Melbourne band Oh Mercy's album, which is sounding great. Not sure when it's coming out but will be well worth checking out. Jae has co written and sings lead vocal on a track with UK act someotherguy, the track "The Outsider" will be released in England in October as a double A sided vinyl. The other side of the vinyl features Shaun Ryder on vocals.

Post Tour

The band will re group in a weeks time to start demoing the next album. Everyone has been keeping busy post tour. Paul has been holidaying in Rome. Myles' is busy producing an album for Oh Mercy, great band from Melbourne, who recently toured with us. Keep an eye out for Oh Mercy, they'll have an album out soon. Drew's been slogging over post tour paper work while Jules has been playing with Chatesey La Rouge (Featuring guys from Jebediah, The Black Black Smoke & Kill devil hills) Jae has been spending time in Spain, drinking and hanging out with the likes of Manchester United's fullback Wes Brown and Ex Newcastle United and Bolton Wanders manager Sam Alladice. The beach side house he was staying at had a grand piano, ideal for working out song ideas. He's also been spending  time in a studio in Manchester, UK, putting some song ideas down before heading back to Australia. We'll be demoing new material in a couple of weeks before heading across to Townsville in Queensland for the River Festival on July 12, Splendour in the Grass in Byron Bay on August 3 and The Great Escape Festival in Sydney on October 4.  We'll have details of more tour dates soon.

END OF TOUR: We're at the end of our Don't fight it tour, and what a tour it's been. We'd like to thank everyone who has come along and supported the band. This run of dates have seen us playing in some new places, and at bigger venues than we've previously played.

The gigs have sold out and we've been thrilled to see all of you at the shows. We've played longer sets on this tour in order to play Cruel Guards in it's entirety, and to give a nod to the fans who have been with us from the beginning, by including some of the older material, we hadn't played for a while.
In the rehearsal room prior to the tour, we rehearsed some thirty songs, and have been swapping these around venue by venue. If you've just discovered the band hopefully you enjoyed hearing the new album. If you're one of our beloved older fans, we hope you got a kick out of hearing songs from all three albums.

Keep an ear out for Oh Mercy and Little Red who we've dragged around the country. Both are fantastic bands.

Stay tuned for photo's from the Don't Fight It tour.

BACK FROM AMERICA AND ENGLAND

We're back in Australia following a successful month of touring in America and England. We started the trip in Austin Texas with several shows at SXSW.  It was beautiful spring weather and it was a great start to the trip. Nathan Folowill from Kings of Leon came down to one of our shows and said some very nice things about us in Rolling Stone Magazine USA .

We then hit an extremely cold and windy New York City on St Pat's day - what better excuse to have a few pints of Guinness. New York City is so rich in music history you can feel it. We stayed and did a photo shoot at The Chelsea Hotel where Dylan Thomas had his last drink and everyone from Dylan to Cohen wrote songs and Arthur Miller and Thomas Wolfe wrote books.

We had mixed "Cruel Guards" there and it was great to be back to play a couple of shows. By the time we landed in London it was snowing. We played four shows in the capital and generally had a ball.

It's great to be home and getting ready for our forthcoming Australian tour which starts in Tasmania late April. Full tour listing can be found in Tour Date section of the site.  We plan to play a few more of the older tunes mixed in with the current record. Tickets to shows are selling fast - The Corner in Melbourne has already Sold Out.

At the end of April we're hosting Rage on the ABC selecting our favourite tunes and then sometime in May Jae will be popping up on Spicks N Specks.
